Giveaway

WishGift.ca all began with a swingset; a gift my family and friends chose to contribute towards in lieu of a traditional wrapped gift (see The Beginning for more details).  The reviews were so positive that I took the simple concept of giving-together and launched a website.

The idea is simple:
1- you register an item
2- invite guests to contribute towards it in lieu of a traditional gift
3- use the money collected to purchase the item

Since the launch of WishGift in 2010, the most amazing gifts have been given and received.  Swingsets, motorized ride-on vehicles, dress-up kits, strollers, gaming consoles, dollhouses etc.

If you like the idea of giving together to give and receive amazing gifts, help spread the word by inviting friends to "like" us on Facebook, "follow" us on Twitter, and "pin" on Pinterest.

I'll be awarding a Visa Gift Card, to a lucky winner drawn at random.  Just follow the Raffelcopter instructions below and increase your chances of winning!

Good Luck!

  1. I find it is very hard to buy gifts for others, especially for kids! You never know what toys they already have, or if they are into the type of toy you have picked out.

  2. I completely agree Kattrina! I'm so appreciative when I receive an invite with a WishGift since it takes all the guesswork out of gift-giving! Since I'll be giving a gift anyhow, I like knowing that my money is going towards something the child really likes and will enjoy.

  3. I hate guessing and giving a gift receipt as if to say "You'll hate this so here...return it". And when on a budget, gift cards can make you look cheap. I love the idea of a group gift!

  4. Love using this site, having very generous family and friends we accumulate too many toys and this is a great way to get one jumbo gift and be a little lest cluttered!!

  5. Lol!! So true gift receipts are inadvertently saying "feel free to return".
No matter the amount spent, gifts should be appreciated and enjoyed! I was feeling so bad seeing my kids play with gifts they'd receive for such a short period of time, knowing that friends and family were spending so much money on the items.

  6. You said it Cindy! With children comes toys and with toys comes clutter ;). Wouldn't be so bad if the toys were actually played with. I've found that the gifts my children have received from using WishGift have been enjoyed with for so much longer.

  8. Some people are difficult to buy for while I have an easy time finding the perfect gift for others. It often helps if they have hobbies or collect items :-)

  12. Tammy- What about buying for other people's children? We have two birthday parties this weekend (daycare friends) and I found it so tough since I don't know what the kids already have or are into. Crossing my fingers (and got a gift receipt), just in case .

  15. Depending on the person, it can be extremely easy or extremely difficult.

  16. I agree, some people are easy to buy gifts for!

I find it most challenging when buying for my kids' daycare or school friends since I don't know what they already have and aren't close enough to the parents to ask for suggestions. Also find that toys have gotten so pricey that I'm upping the budget more and more...

  24. We just celebrated our daughter 5th birthday and have been spoiled by wonderful WishGifts for the past 3 years (a swingset, a dollhouse and a Disney Princess 12 piece dress-up kit). Although my daughter has definitely benefited from creating a WishGift, this year I couldn't think of anything. What was most surprising was how disappointed my guests were!! They had been finding it so easy to buy gifts and really appreciated that we had been making gifting so easy.

REALLY HAPPY to know WishGift is win-win for both sides!
